Actress Im Soo Hyang is in talks to play the female lead that gets entangled with two brothers in the MBC's upcoming drama "When I was the Prettiest".
The famous South Korean actress Im Soo-hyang was born on April 19, 1990. The young actress became famous with her leading roles in television series titled "New Tale of Gisaeng" in the year 2011 and "Inspiring Generation" in the year 2014.
Im Soo Hyang was part of the cast in a Chinese film in 2014, and she also played the title character in the prison romance Eun-ha way back 2016. Let us not forget her role as the female lead in the campus romance titled "My ID is Gangnam Beauty" in 2018.
Last two years ago Im Soo Hyang made her career rise up when she starred alongside young star members of Astro Cha Eun-woo in the JTBC famous romantic comedy series titled Gangnam Beauty. This drama was declared as one of the highest-rated Korean dramas in cable television history, it earned a lot of praise for its representation of issues regarding the South Korean society, especially on its superficial beauty standards and discrimination on the basis of physical appearance.
Im Soo Hyang took home the Top Excellence Award for Actress in a Drama at the 26th Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards for her performance as Kang Mi-rae, a college student who went under cosmetic surgery to prevent mockery from her associates.
In the year 2019, Im Soo Hyang also starred in the mystery drama titled "Graceful Family." She played the character of a bold and charismatic chaebol heiress. The series premiered with high ratings of viewers for the MBN network and attracted media attention in Korea and internationally.
A source from her agency FN Entertainment told DongA this 9th of January that Im Soo Hyang has received an offer for MBC's new drama 'When I Was The Prettiest' and is currently reviewing it. She is still undecided but she's in the process of choosing the particular drama amongst other projects.
"When I Was the Prettiest" is a drama that will give a message that anyone has the right to be happy. It will tell the story of achieving healing after pain, and the love story of a woman who is entangled between two brothers.
The role of the female protagonist Oh Ye Ji was the character that was offered to Actress Im Soo Hyang. Her character shows candidly about her emotions a woman who does not hold any grudges and quickly gets over negative things after having a good cry.
Even though, he sometimes pretends to have a bright personality in order to forget about her depressing reality, still ends up having a bright personality in real life.
The drama will be a project collaboration of director Oh Kyung Hoon of "Bad Thief, Good Thief" and "Mom," and writer Jo Hyun Kyung of "Maids" and "Grand Prince."
"When I Was the Prettiest" is set to premiere in the second half of this year.
