MBC weekend drama 'Golden Rainbow' and the story about the secrets of birth surrounding the female protagonist, kidnapping, character setting and such makes one think of "May Queen."
On November 3rd in "Golden Rainbow" Kim Baek Won (played by Kim Yoo Jun) led the poor lives of Man Won, Ship Won, Yeol Won, Il Won, and Young Won yet stayed confident throughout.
Kim Bae Won tried hard to remain strong in front of her siblings who thought that their parents had left them. Kim Baek Won tried hard to smile and the only person knowing her true feelings was Kim Man Won who tried to console her.
Meanwhile, Jin Gi (played by Jo Min Ki) had planned a kidnapping when Ha Bin (played by Kim Yoo Jung) was younger and after receiving a call that they knew who had kidnapped Ha Bin, he started planning everything all over again. Jin Ki was worried that the lobbying that he had planned would be caught by his mother-in-law and put Ha Bin in the storage closet and planned a fake kidnapping. Ha Bin started to here and there and ended up in the waves after leaving the storage closet and Jin Gi as well grandma Kang Juns Shim (played by Park Won Sook) were worried thinking the kid had died.
'Golden Rainbow' is the new piece by writer Son Young Mok and it's set with a kidnapping of a child leading to a secret surrounding a birth, as well as a poor girl who lives her life determined, a male protagonist who hides his genius-ness and lives his own way. This all is very similar to "May Queen."
"May Queen" was set with a forced environment and viewers started to criticize it, but ratings went up to more than 20%. For 'Golden Rainbow' to not hear that it's a remake of "May Queen" then it's going to require a differentiating point with "May Queen."
Meanwhile, "Golden Rainbow" is about seven siblings who have been connected by a wheelbarrow and draws on the story of their love and ambition.
