“Homeland” Season 3, Episode 6 features Sgt. Nicholas Brody’s case officer and “lover,” Carrie Mathison is pregnant. And this week’s episode saw a drawer full of pregnancy tests that hinted Carrie may be three months pregnant and raised questions if indeed it is Brody’s child?
The teaser at this week’s episode titled, “Still Positive” showed a drawer in Carrie’s room full of pregnancy tests which only confirmed what she had been dreading for.
The CIA case officer is very much pregnant and everyone, including Carrie is asking how could she tell Brody they are expecting a baby if she doesn’t know where he is. Or as some news outlets had teased, should Carrie find out where Brody is for child support?
Carrie’s pregnancy has helped “Homeland” devoted fans to go back to the memory lane and take a look back to the complicated romance Carrie has gotten herself into with Sgt. Brody.
We all know Carrie’s character must have started feeling for Nick when she was watching how Brody failed to consummate an evening with wife, Jessica. Carrie was watching Brody at the monitor of the surveillance video shortly after the war veteran had just arrived from Iraq.
While she must have developed some unspoken and unexplained feelings for Brody, Carrie took the matters into her own hands and she decided to pretend running into him at some group healing. But the magic worked for the would-be lovers when it rained and the romantic moments began for Carrie and Brody.
After the failed lie detector test, Carrie herself had suggested (following the death of Brody’s prison guard) while at CIA custody, the two hit it off and went to a bar for a drink. The night ended with Brody and Carrie having sex at the back of her car. This intimate moment was extended to a long weekend together at the cabin owned by Carrie’s family.
“Homeland” fans are now asking if Carrie will be able to find out where Brody is, if indeed he is the father of her unborn baby.
Showtime’s “Homeland” Season 3, Episode 6 was directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and was written by Alexander Cary and Barbara Hall.
