Young and free, Yoon Ji Soo fell in love at first sight to young and strong-willed Han Jae Hyun. It was an unconventional meeting, yet her feelings grew strong the more she comes to know him.
In her early 20s, Ji Soo was persistent in getting to know Jae Hyun even though he ignored her several times. Their first time spending an hour together was watching their favorite classic movie, "Love Letter." As Jae Hyun discovered Ji Soo's talent in playing piano, he gets mesmerized by her music.
Twenty years later, Ji Soo wore casual clothes and supported campaigns once in a while. She works hard to support her father and son. Her marriage did not end well. She chose to earn money on her own rather than getting alimony from her ex-husband. Life is never easy far from her younger years. She endured and decided to survive for her son.
Jae Hyun, as smart as he is and ambitious in life, success was at his reach. He married a wealthy, pretty lady with a son he seldom met due to his busy schedule. At his prime age, he got imprisoned as dictated by his father-in-law. He served four years of living life away from his work and family. Once he got out, no one was there to greet and welcome him.
He went to see the chairman of the company to report and check on with their business. He went home to take a rest and picked up a poem book given by a familiar name Ji Soo back in 1994. He went inside the living room and watched the movie "Love Letter" and fell asleep.
Ji Soo, staying in the city on her own, makes herself busy by supporting the protesters abused by their company. Her apartment's old furniture and broken lights remained the same over the years. She plays the piano in a big hotel to aid her financial needs. Her lonesome spirit of hardship took a toll in her ungroomed self. Her friend would come by to help her fix around the house and talk about life.
Jae Hyun met his co-worker Yoon Gi in the hotel and discussed some legal matters. He showed him pictures of Jae's wife sitting inside the passenger's seat, talking intimately with a man. Jae Hyun sighed and suddenly shifted his attention to the music of the piano that echoed inside the lounge. He stood up and looked at the young lady wearing a black dress with an eye mask while playing familiar music from his younger years. Tears rolled down his face that took him by surprise. Yoon Gi called him and asked if he was okay. Jae Hyun replied that he was doing good. He turned around to the piano, and then the music stopped - the lady was gone.
Jae Hyun tried to look for Ji Soo, yet time seems in favor for them to see each other again.
The next day, Jae Hyun went back to the hotel, he saw the lady, and he heard her music again. He was about to approach her when his wife called over. Their son encountered an accident and needed him to travel to see him. His wife went overseas on a business trip. He ran towards his car and drove fast to his son's school located outside the city.
Ji Soo was playing the piano but was interrupted by a call from the school. Young Min was reprimanded by throwing a chair to his classmate. Then, Ji Soo traveled by train and taxi to reach her son's school., but ass she got inside the principal office, head down, she asked forgiveness from the other parent sitting at the couch. Ji Soo's son Young Min and Jae Hyun's son are classmates.
Jae Hyun hears the familiar voice and looked up, there is Ji Soo. For a long time, he finally found her. Jae Hyun couldn't take the feeling. He stood up and left the office. He told the principal not to file any case for Young Min and forgive Ji Soo's son.
The snow was heavy on this side of town. Jae Hyun was about to go home as he saw Ji Soo walking outside in the cold night. Jae Hyun felt anxious and happy at the same time. He stepped out of the car and followed Ji Soo. They reached the railway, and he talked about not minding what happened with the boys. Ji Soo looked around, and her eyes widened - the person she loved and cared about - Jae Hyun. He looked at her and mentioned her name with tears in his eyes.
