On a sunny day, Moon Gang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun) presses the next bus stop. He walks up to Daun Vocational School. He waits and sits inside and listens intently to the director of the school with his sentiments.

His brother, Moon Sang Tae (Oh Jung Se), anxiously waits outside the door, looking at him through the small glass window. The director informed Gang Tae that his brother often had tantrums in the middle of the class. They are more concerned about any accidents in the future. Hence, they recommended to transfer him to any special school.

Gang Tae packed his brother's things and invited him for a meal. His patience and a deep sigh relax Sang Tae as they walk towards the bus station.

Spending the morning right, Ko Mun Yeong (Seo Ye Ji), in her elegant dress, enjoyed the taste of the steak and a glass of red wine in an upscale restaurant. It didn't take long for her to be alone as a mother and her daughter approached her for an autograph. The little girl thought to praise her, saying that Mun Yeong is like a beautiful princess in her storybooks.

Ko Mun Yeong, however, felt disgusted hearing such a compliment. Instead, in a whisper, she persuades the girl that the star of her books is the pretty witch. The little girl cried in fear and ran outside, while the mother followed by surprise.

Ko Mun Yeong is a famous author of children's books that has a wide global fanbase. Her books are inspired more of the night - creepy and grotesque illustrated books. She is a single, young, pretty, and cold-hearted woman. Everyone in the company fears her, especially when she gets in a bad mood. She is hot-tempered and loves to play with pointed metal objects like knife, scissors, and pins. She is known for her anti-social personality. The best part of her life is that she is rich and elegant in sundry ways.

Everytime she gets in trouble, Mr. Lee takes care of cleaning her mess and ensuring all her commitments are in place. He is the CEO of the publishing company.

Mr. Lee arranged a reading and storytelling in one of the children's wards of a hospital. Mun Yeong is getting ready with all the preparations in place.

In the same hospital, Gang Tae works as a caregiver for almost a year. He is hardworking, kind, and responsible. His priority in life is to protect and take care of his older brother, the only family he has. Sang Tae, who has issues with low developmental delays (intellectual disability), is what keeps him going.

In the middle of the event, an older patient with mental illness escaped from his ward. He went looking for his daughter, who is also admitted to the children's ward. In his search, he ended and found her at the event stage. Before that, the nurses, caregivers, and security personnel kept looking for him.

The hotel security reached the event stage and stopped Mun Yeong while reading. She stood and argued why they disrupted the show. The nurses took all the children to safety. The disturbed man found his daughter and took her to the backstage. He convinced his daughter that they should die rather than be separated.
