The physical health of a person is as important as his or her mental health. With a lot of people sufferring from poor psychological wellbeing, it just goes to show the need for attention.

Speaking of the newly finished Korean drama, "It's Okay To Not Be Okay" depicts people of different status in life, different environment that they grew up on, and different situations or scenarios that they go through. But most importantly, the series inspires normalizing mental health in South Korea and overseas.

The producer, Park Sin Woo, said in an interview that he wanted to show to people how those diagnosed with such diseases are not different from everybody around them and that it is completely normal.

"It's Okay To Not Be Okay" is a series in which Moon Gang Tae, played by Kim Soo Hyun, works in a psychiatric ward and tends to patients in their community. Ko Moon Young is portrayed by Seo Ye Ji, who embodies a woman with strong character yet is someone who is not able to feel what love really is.

Park Sin Woo stated that Seo Ye Ji's character is someone who usually keeps her thoughts personally and is someone who not ready to show who she really is because she is afraid that nobody will be able to understand what she is going through with her life - it simply shows how alone she was. He has emphasized that although she was able to showcase the persona that she is not, she portrayed it very well.

And at the end of the series, viewers were then able to know and understand what her true character is.

For Kim Soo Hyun's character, he finally learns something that is completely out of his comfort zone and that he is happy about the new learnings that he attained. He has learned that loving something that you have stopped yourself to do just because you think that it is selfish, can open doors for you and it can help you become a better person that you were yesterday.

What the producer wanted to impart to us as viewers is that it is okay to become a person that cares for you first rather that pouring from an empty cup. It is okay to start loving yourself first. It is okay to start prioritizing yourself and become someone who is independent and chase your dreams. It may seem difficult at first but it will all be worth all the pain and sufferings that one has gone through.

Not everything has a happy ending but what is important is that you grow and learn from your past experiences to become a better person compared to who you were yesterday.
