The first half of the year 2020 has already passed, and for Korean dramas, there were good dramas that received a lot of praise and good reviews from the viewers. However, sad to say, some dramas were given some bad reviews.
Dramas like "Crash Landing On You," which premiered at the end of last year, "The world of the Married," "Itaewon Class," and "Hospital Playlist" gained positive reactions and was able to record high viewership ratings. Some other shows, unfortunately, gained some disappointing reviews, and a lot of people were not satisfied with it despite having an all-star cast. Not to mention the drama "Meow, the Secret Boy," it sadly became the first-ever drama that aired on a terrestrial TV network to record the dishonorable viewership of 0 percent.
So let's take a rundown of the worst Korean dramas according to viewers that premiered starting the year 2020.
The King: Eternal Monarch
Some might say that "The King: Eternal Monarch" is considered the most unsatisfying work ever created by writer Kim Eun Sook. To sum up, the one of a kind directing style + exaggerated product placement + the unattractive character + the boring narration all summed up to be the one of the worst Korean dramas aired in 2020. Though they made a lot of improvements along the way, it was quite too late for that. And people had high expectations for Lee Min Ho's comeback drama, and sadly, some fans were just disappointed.
My Holo Love
According to some viewers, "My Holo Love," the CGI was great; however, it was still chosen as one of the worst drama since some would say there was no "taste of words" that some viewers expected. Probably the script was not so good since even in the part where intense emotions would explode, the lines are too stiff like you couldn't feel anything at all. And it's hard for the viewers to relate to the character's feelings because of the emotionless lines. So when the most anticipated moment when the main characters kiss and confess their love, the viewers are confused like, was that supposed to be the whisper of love?
Hi Bye, Mama!
"Hi Bye, Mama!" did showcase a nice and fresh start with a unique storyline about a mother's love story. However, as the story progressed, the second half was just disappointing. The story began to deteriorate when Kim Tae Hee's reincarnation occurred. The main point that grabbed the attention of the viewers on the early stage of the drama was buried deep by the stories that only sought out for tears and frustrating developments. And the ending was disappointingly boring.
Money Game
This drama is one of the most exciting and most anticipated by viewers for the main fact that the "Money Game's" story deals with an economic crisis, which is rare for Korean dramas. But the slow development as they pressed the story of every character was certainly distressing.
