Just a week after the year started, these Korean dramas are already dominating the viewership ratings chart!
It has just been a week, but there are already a lot of things that had happened in K-dramaland. After the hit series "Penthouse" finished its first season on Tuesday, they achieved an amazing 28.8 percent rating for its final episode. The drama started with a good rating, and as expected, they also finished their run with a high rating, which is why viewers are convinced that they can also beat their own records for second season.
Every week is a new chance to binge-watch the most exciting and interesting K-dramas. According to AGB Nielson, from Jan. 4 to Jan. 10, here is the list of the most-viewed series.
Starting from Monday to Tuesday dramas, "Secret Royal Inspector" garnered a 5.7 percent rating for their fifth episode and went up to 6.5 percent on their sixth episode. Of course, the most awaited episodes of "Penthouse" also had an amazing increase in the viewership ratings from episode 20. They recorded an average score of 23.8 percent, which increased to 28.8 percent for their final episode.
tvN drama "Awaken" have dropped their average record from 4.8 percent to 4.6 percent. Same with Wednesday-Thursday KBS drama "Cheat On Me If You Can" which garnered an average rating of 3.1 percent for their 9th episode and decreased to 3.0 percent during their 10th episode.
Meanwhile, "Run On" have a good standing for they have increased their viewership record from 2.8 percent during their 7th episode and went up to 3.8 percent on their 8th episode. tvN romantic comedy drama starring ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, Moon Ga Young, and Hwang In Yeop, "True Beauty," had an average record of 3.9 percent during their 7th episode and dropped to 2.8 percent on their 8th episode.
The Friday-Saturday dramas "Fly Dragon" and "Hush" had contrast in their ratings. On the 15th episode of the series, it recorded an average rating of 5.2 percent and had a sudden increase during their 16th episode with an average score of 5.4 percent. On the other hand, "Hush" slowly dropped from 2.7 percent to 2.3 percent.
Making the best ratings are the weekend dramas starting from "Homemade Love Story," which has the highest ratings among all dramas. It recorded an average percent of 30.9 during its 33rd episode and rose to 33.6 percent. The series also became the most-watched K-drama in Korea today.
Meanwhile, "The Uncanny Counter" is always on the go in breaking their own rating records, from 8.7 percent to 10.6 percent. Same with tvN drama "Mr. Queen," which garnered an average score of 12.1 percent on their 9th episode and increased to 12.8 percent during the 10th episode.
The continuous engagement of viewers to K-dramas has a great effect in preserving and producing unique storylines that can break records in the history of Korean entertainment.
