"Crash Landing on You" star Son Ye-Jin just turned 39 in January. What better role to play than someone turning 40?
Jeon Mi-do, So Ye-Jin To Star in New Drama
The K-drama actress, who stole the hearts of many in her role at "Crash Landing on You" back in 2019 -- the last year before COVID-19 turned everything upside down, may soon be seen in a new drama. To say fans are missing her is an understatement and a new show is, therefore, widely welcomed.
Allegedly, the new drama is called "39:" and will involve a total of only 12 episodes. Quite short, but guaranteed to be quite interesting because, unlike traditional romance or fantasy series, this will be focusing on a topic not as tackled in k-drama series - women on the cusp of turning 40.
Apart from Son Ye-Jin, another actress that might star on this show playing another woman entering the wonder 40s, is "Hospital Playlist" actress Jeon Mi-do.
Son is said to will play the head of a Gangnam dermatology clinic who has led a fortunate life, while Jeon, 38, will be playing someone with a more ordinary life - that of an acting teacher.

The show is written by acclaimed scriptwriter Yoo Young-ah, whose remarkable style of writing can be attested by the 2018 hit drama Encounter. If things go as planned (or if COVID-19 does not cause more damage to the entertainment industry), filming will start in the second half of 2022.

If Son takes on the role, this is the first time she will be seen in a drama once more after her stint as the South Korean heiress in "Crash Landing On You."
At present, there are even rumors that she and her lead actor Hyun Bin, 38, are now dating.
Apart from this new drama, Son might start filming for her Hollywood debut "Cross" soon. It was supposed to begin this month, April, but the film, directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Sam Worthington was allegedly being delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, Jeon Mi-do herself has been busy. Her hit Korean drama series. "Hospital Playlist" is soon dropping its second season. If things go as planned, it will be premiering this coming June already.
Just recently, to hint at the upcoming premiere, tvN released a behind-the-scenes video showing the original lead cast members, Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Yeon Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Dae Myung, all in a mini-reunion, engaged in script reading session.
The cast members seemed excited to see each other as they enthusiastically greeted one another.
Jeon Mi Do's rise to fame because of this show was apparent. She herself described how she felt when she felt her career taking off because of this show. She funnily recounted how her social media account blew up with followers after starring in this drama and being shocked that people still recognize her even with a mask on.
