"Nevertheless" Episode 1 Highlights:
Yoo Na Bi's First Heartbreak
The romance drama displays Yoo Na Bi's (Han So Hee) toxic relationship with her current boyfriend.
"Nevertheless" episode 1 showed the art student dressed in white and looking gorgeous as she visited an art gallery.
While holding a bouquet of red roses, she stared at a bizarre sculpture titled "Na Bi" which means butterfly. The visitors gathered around the artwork and talked about how odd it was.
The next scene features how manipulative her boyfriend was. Even her green nail polish became a big deal to him.
Fortunately, it was not long when she caught her boyfriend cheating on her and kissing another woman. During their date night, she decided to break up with him.
"Love. It gets trampled on and helplessly melts away. It's nothing. My relationship ended like that too," she explained in a voice-over.
Park Jae Uhn Meets Yoo Na Bi
Sitting alone at a bar, Yoo Na Bi meets Park Jae Uhn (Song Kang).
This was her first time meeting the junior art student who casually walked beside her.
"You got here first," he told Na Bi, only to realize he was mistaken and thought that it was his blind date, So Ri.
Due to his infatuation with butterflies, Park Jae Uhn canceled his date and decided to spend time with Na Bi.
Over drinks and a game of darts, Park Jae Uhn knew about her past relationship and how things ended up between Na Bi and her previous boyfriend.
Interestingly, before wrapping up their unexpected first meeting, he drew a butterfly on her arm which serves as a reminder not to forget him despite not telling his name.
The Art Students' Mini Get-Together
Following her unexpected night out with Park Jae Uhn, it seems that she can't get him off her mind.
Then, her friend Oh Bit Na (Yang Hye Ji) invited her to hang out alongside their fellow art students. Initially, she planned on finishing her template but was persuaded by Bit Na to join them.
Outside the bar, she bumped into Park Jae Uhn but pretended not to know each other and used this as their do-over. This is also where she learned more about Park Jae Uhn.
Yoo Na Bi Falls for Park Jae Uhn
After the dinner, it appears that Yoo Na Bi is now head over heels with Park Jae Uhn, but she was unsure about his feelings.
"Park Jae Uhn keeps making me think the way my annoying ex did," she said to herself, adding, "It's so stupid to read too much into meaningless stuff," while painting alone inside the classroom.
She was then surprised by Park Jae Uhn as he came up behind her. There, he opted to spend his time with Na Bi while she finishes her sculpture.
After this, the duo went to the park, where they had a deep conversation about life and love.
Na Bi opened up that she wanted to enroll as an exchange student just because she wanted to go far away from Korea.
This time, she saw the different side of Park Jae Uhn, which made her fall for him even more.
