Korean superstar Suzy might finally have her small screen return!
According to Star News on July 8, Bae Suzy is courted to appear in Coupang Play's original series "The Second Anna."
On the same day, Suzy's agency Management SOOP revealed that the actress is positively reviewing the casting offer for the said drama.
Suzy's potential series is actually a new project directed by Lee Joo Young of the 2017 movie "A Single Rider" that starred "When the Camellia Blooms" actress Gong Hyo Jin and "Mr. Sunshine" actor Lee Byung Hun.
"The Second Anna" to Have Eight Episodes
Originally "The Second Anna" was planned to be produced as a film, but the production team decided to release it as an eight-episode drama. It will depict the story of Anna, a woman who tries to live someone else's life一which is said to be alike to the "Ripley Syndrome," a kind of antisocial personality disorder where the person constantly believes in a fictional world.
Star News also concluded that the "Start-Up" actress decided to review the casting offer for "The Second Anna" because of her interest in the drama script and her trust in director Lee Joo Young.
Meanwhile, the production team of the upcoming series plans to start filming this 2021 after they finish casting actors to be included in the project.
If Suzy accepts the drama role, "The Second Anna" marks her small screen comeback following "Start-Up" in 2020.
The "Vagabond" star will also make her silver screen return this 2021 with sci-fi movie "Wonderland." Even though there is no confirmation yet about the release of the forthcoming film, Korean drama/film enthusiasts are already looking forward to the stellar casts to be watched in one frame.
