The popular K-drama "Goblin" starring Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun welcomed the viewers with a stunning visual and fascinating storyline that displays mythical creatures - from lovable Grim Reaper to the charismatic Dokkaebi, also known as the nature deity, goblin.
First aired in December 2016, the fantasy rom-com series is penned by veteran screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, whose famous works includes mega hit series such as "Lovers in Paris," "The Heirs," and "Descendants of the Sun"
"Goblin" follows the story of a 900 year old Kim Shin, played by Gong Yoo, who is a former general during the Goryeo dynasty.
In the drama, his mission to find his bride who holds the ability of ending his life by pulling out the sword, struck in his heart.
Fortunately, he encounters a high school student named Ji Eun Tak, portrayed by Kim Go Eun, who has the power to see the dead and claims to be the Goblin's bride.
Unfortunately, the two fall in love, which makes it harder for Eun Tak to do her duty as the Goblin's bride.
Apart from Kim Shin and Ji Eun Tak's blossoming love affair, a budding romance also builds with the grim reaper and a beautiful Sunny, played by Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na.
With its out of the ordinary story, "Goblin" achieved soaring viewership ratings and gained millions of viewers not just in South Korea but all over the world.

Gong Yoo
"Goblin" is Gong Yoo's return to the small screen after taking a three year break from filming.
After the success of the tvN drama, the Hallyu star went on a hiatus and resumed in 2016 with his movie comeback "A Man and A Woman."
That year, he also starred in the popular K-zombie series "Train to Busan."
Just recently, he appeared on the big screen alongside South Korean heartthrob Park Bo Gum in the sci-fi film "Seobok."
Now, he is set to make a grand return in K-drama with Netflix's "The Silent Sea" with Bae Doo Na and Lee Joon.
As for his endorsement, Gong Yoo's agency, Management SOOP teased his fans with a series of photos for his upcoming project.
Kim Go Eun
The 30-year-old A-lister is currently appearing in reality show "Sea of Hope," alongside fellow "Goblin" cast Lee Dong Wook.
Kim Go Eun's duty is to be the ocean guard while the 39-year-old heartthrob took the role of a head bartender.
Apart from this, she is also set to lead the new K-drama "Yumi's Cells" with Ahn Bo Hyun, GOT7's Jinyoung and more.

The sought-after actor is currently in "Sea of Hope," alongside star studded cast members like Lee Ji Ah, Yoon Jong Shin, Onew, Lee Soo Hyun and of course his "Goblin" co-star.
Lee Dong Wook wrapped up his K-drama "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" in December 2020 but set to return in the upcoming series "Bad and Crazy."
Moreover, he has two soon to be released movies - "The Single in Seoul" and the highly-anticipated comedy film "Happy New Year."
