Lovers of the Red Sky Episode 2 gained a slight increase as compared to its previous rating.
According to Nielsen Korea, Lovers of the Red Sky viewership rating garnered an average nationwide rating of 8.8 percent and 8.5 percent in the metropolitan area, peaking at 10.1 percent.
Not only that, the historical fantasy drama took first place in the entire Monday-Tuesday series, as well as landing the top spot across all channels in the same time slot.

Lovers of the Red Sky Episode 2 Highlights: Hong Cheon Gi Becomes the Town's Only Female Painter
Lovers of the Red Sky episode 2 began years after the tragic incident at the palace. 19 years later, Hong Cheon Gi became a successful painter after regaining her sight. She studied hard and took odd painting jobs to support her father, who is battling trauma after witnessing an evil spirit.
One of her jobs is to produce fake paintings so she could save for her father's medicine.
Unfortunately, Cheon Gi was fooled by the merchant, which made her furious, knowing her sacrifices.
Ha Ram's Double Life
Meanwhile, Ha Ram managed to become the dynasty's greatest astrologer.
Despite being regarded by the royal family due to his skills, he secretly plots to take his revenge after the royal guards killed his parents. He pretended not to remember the tragic incident that caused his blindness. Ha Ram told himself that everyone must pay for their sins.
Apart from being the royal family's astrologer, he also lives as Il Wol Seong, Wol Sung Dang's head of intelligence, who can somehow predict the future.

Ha Ram Reunites with Hong Cheon Gi
Lovers of the Red Sky episode 2 featured the reunion of Ha Ram and Hong Cheon Gi years after the incident. After being chased by a group of men, she accidentally stumbled upon Ha Ram's carriage to hide.
Unfortunately, he could not recognize her, and so does Cheon Gi; however, her scent, which is a smell of ink, reminds him of the blind girl he met 19 years ago.
Interestingly, Cheon Gi was in awe of Ha Ram's gleaming red eyes and told him how beautiful they were.
However, the reunion of the two awakened Ha Ram's inner demon. The butterfly tattoo on his neck, which was given by the goddess, engulfed with excruciating pain, suddenly disappeared,
Tension rose after he told Cheon Gi to leave the carriage. Shortly after, he was consumed by the power of the water demon and appeared with a terrifying aura.
