The ratings winner for this week was once again "Empress Ki." The show reached 15.5 percent in the Nielsen ratings thanks to its excellent writing and acting. Ha Ji Won, Ji Chang Wook and Joo Jin Mo are all convincing and draw you cleverly into their feelings. Ji Chang Wook's character seems to be maturing with every episode, growing from a spoiled boy into a man.
The only criticism that viewers have made on the show is how long it is taking for anyone to notice that Ha Ji Won is a woman, but her disguise will soon be revealed.
"The Suspicious Housekeeper" achieved 9.5 percent in the ratings as housekeeper Bok Nyeo finally traps the man who murdered her family. Bok Nyeo, who is played by Choi Ji Woo, pretended to care for her stalker only to capture him and make him confess. But that may not be enough since he has an ally she is not aware of. The show, which started out strong, has lagged a bit in the last few weeks and might have been better with fewer episodes. The whole idea of the robotic not-quite-right housekeeper seemed less suspicious than the idea that she would entertain such a convoluted plot to capture her family's murderer.
"Future's Choice" remains at the lowest point in the ratings, where it has stayed for the past few weeks. Why have the ratings for "Future's Choice" been so low? No one can blame it on Yoon Eun Hye's not-so-flattering curly hairdo. Her hair has been straightened and yet the ratings still only reached 5 percent this week. That meant the drama remained in third place.
Even with a stellar cast of tried-and-true actors, this show failed to catch the interest of viewers. Time travel is usually a selling point in a drama but no one seemed to care much about the warnings of future Na Mi Rae. Nor did they add any interest to the rather ordinary love triangle that Yoon Eun Hye found herself in. Even Yoon Eun Hye's dangerous undercover work in the latest episodes did not revive the drama.
If only future Na Mi Rae had come back in time to warn the show's writers that they needed to add something more to the plot or they would remain in third place for the duration.
On the variety show front, the KBS show "Hello" reached 7.5 percent in the ratings, while the SBS program, "Healing Camp" reached 7.4 percent.
