Lee Joon will finally join Kang Han Na in a new historical-romance drama "Red Single Heart."
Media insiders announced on November 2 that idol-turned-actor Lee Joon is confirmed to star in KBS upcoming drama "Red Single Heart." He is expected to share the frame with "My Roommate is a Gumiho" actress Kang Han Na and "Fated to Love You" actor Jang Hyuk.
"Red Single Heart" tells the story of Lee Tae, who becomes a king of Joseon and dreams of absolute power.
Lee Joon and Kang Han Na's Chemistry in 'Red Single Heart'
Lee Joon will immerse himself in the character of Lee Tae, a man who aims to strengthen his authority to get rid of his enemies. He is a person who thinks any action is justifiable to achieve his goal as a leader.
Potential viewers are now looking forward to his new character, which is different from his previous ones.
Kang Han Na was the first to confirm her participation in the series. In "Red Single Heart," she takes the role of Yoo Jung, a beautiful lady whom Lee Tae falls in love with. Lee Tae wants her to be his crown princess, but it will bring chaos to his family. Due to his situation, Lee Tae will be forced to choose between Yoo Jung and his family.
Meanwhile, Jang Hyuk will be Park Gye Won, Lee Tae's enemy. He is a respected individual that everyone obeys. He is a kingmaker who will make wise decisions in choosing the right king to lead the nation.
"Red Single Heart" will be Lee Joon and Jang Hyuk's second drama together following "Iris 2" in 2013.
In addition, director Yoo Young Eun is in charge of the series, and writer Park Pil Joo will pen the script.
KBS' new historical romance drama is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2022.

Lee Joon to Star in 'Bulgasal' and 'The Silent Sea'
Before working with "Red Single Heart," Lee Joon will greet the viewers first with tvN's "Bulgasal," where Kwon Nara and Lee Jin Wook are also part of the cast.
On October 31, the first video teaser for the series was revealed and Kdrama fans are already curious on how the story about "Bulgasal" will evolve.
The former MBLAQ member will also appear in Netflix's original series "The Silent Sea" alongside Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, and Choi Hee Jin. As the filming production already concluded, the public awaits for the confirmed date when the drama will air.
