Previously, Kim Hyun Soo (Kim Soo Hyun) gets detained without due process after all evidence of killing Hong Guk Hwa (Hwang Se On) points to him. In addition to that, he also suffers under the perpetual lynching of his fellow inmates. But things become more intense as the story progresses in the new and highly-engrossing crime legal drama. In "One Ordinary Day" episode 4, Kim Soo Hyun stands trial for a crime he didn't do.

'One Ordinary Day' Episode 4: Kim Hyun Soo Continues To Suffer Inside Prison

Kim Hyun Soo's agony inside prison didn't stop even after Do Ji Tae (Kim Sung Kyu), the 13-year-old criminal who controls the prison, offers to help him.

In fact, Park Doo Sik (Yang Kyung Won) becomes more brutal with him, pushing him against walls and torturing him defenseless. The violent criminal also tortures him mentally and emotionally, threatening him and cursing him out every chance he gets.

Because of this, Kim Hyun Soo feels even smaller, and hopes to go out of prison sooner. He is then introduced to Seo Soo Jin (Lee Seol), a rookie lawyer who will represent him as a lawyer.

Ahn Tae Hee Plans a Life Sentence

Despite Kim Hyun Soo's plea, Ahn Tae Hee (Kim Shin Rok) and other authorities believe that Kim Hyun Soo is responsible for Hwang Se On's death.

Ahn Tae Hee is the prosecutor on Kim Hyun Soo's case, which gives her certain power over things. Her wicked thoughts and eagerness to close the case leads her to giving Kim Hyun Soo the harsh taste of life.

One day, she sends Kim Hyun Soo to take a polygraph test, despite him not being fit to take the test due to his respiratory problems.

Thankfully, the adamant and warmhearted Shin Jung Han (Cha Seung Won) intervenes between Park Sang Beom (Kim Hong Pa) and Seo Soo Jin, who are both turning a blind eye on Kim Hyun Soo's dilemma.

Not only that, Shin Jung Han also digs out and finds that the victim and late Hong Guk Hwa visits a rehabilitation center for sleeping disorders, which apparently is a key factor in the case.

Unlike Shin Jung Han, Kim Hyun Soo's lawyer seems like she has given up on his murder case. Instead of fighting for his innocence, his party decides to "bargain" with the prosecution, asking for a 10-year-imprisonment deal.

Although it sounds like a greater sentence than being imprisoned for something he didn't do for the rest of his life, Kim Hyun Soo, as well as Shin Jung Han, didn't like the idea of it.

His lawyer forces him to stand trial and confess and turn himself in. Kim Hyun Soo then suddenly gets glimpses of what went down that one ordinary day.
