The holiday season welcomed a slew of entertaining series, but 2022 promises a variety of highly anticipated Kdramas featuring sought-after stars in Hallyu.
From small screen comebacks to fresh team-ups, the coming year would definitely give every Kdrama fandom a fun treat.
Without further ado, here are the much-awaited 2022 K-Dramas that fans are looking forward to watching.
'The Youngest Son of Chaebol' (JTBC)
Song Joong Ki is set to make a dramatic comeback after the success of his tvN series "Vincenzo."
Fans would get to see the Hallyu star in another rom-com series with "Hospital Playlist" star Shin Hyun Bin as he took on the role of Jin Do Joon, a loyal employee of a wealthy family.
Unfortunately, he was framed for embezzlement and eventually killed by his chaebol boss; however, he was reborn as the family's youngest son named Yoon Hyun Woo.
Set to premiere sometime in 2022, "The Youngest Son of Chaebol" cast includes Lee Sung Min, "Jirisan" actor Jo Han Chul, Girls' Generation Tiffany as Song Joong Ki's sister and more.
'Big Mouth' (tvN)

Another highly anticipated Kdrama is the team-up between Lee Jong Suk and Girls' Generation YoonA for the mystery thriller "Big Mouth."
Helmed by the "Hotel Del Luna" and "Start-Up" director Oh Choong Hwan, the story focuses on the mediocre lawyer, Park Chan Ho, played by the 32-year-old heartthrob.
He was tasked to oversee a murder investigation but ended up being mistaken as a genius conman.
Meanwhile, YoonA took on the role of Park Chan Ho's wife, Go Mi Ho.
'Meteorological Administration People: The Cruelty of Office Romance' (JTBC)
Park Min Young and Song Kang will star in JTBC's melodrama "Meteorological Administration People: The Cruelty of Office Romance."
It highlights the lives of people working at Korea's national weather forecast service.
Joining the cast are Girl's Day's Yura and Yoon Park and will be directed by the "When the Camellia Blooms" PD Cha Young Hoon.
'Thirty-Nine' (JTBC)
After the blockbuster hit Kdrama "Crash Landing On You," Son Ye Jin will return as the 39-year-old Cha Mi Jo, who is the head dermatologist at a famous clinic in Gangnam.
JTBC's upcoming series "Thirty-Nine" also stars "Hospital Playlist" actress Jeon Mi Do as the acting teacher Jung Chan Young and Kim Ji Hyun as the department store cosmetics manager Jang Joo Hee.
The drama highlights the trio's lives as they set to enter their forties.
Yeon Woo Jin, Lee Tae Hwan and Lee Moo Saeng will be their love interest in the upcoming Kdrama.
'Twenty-Five, Twenty-One' (tvN)
tvN will feature an interesting team-up with Nam Joo Hyuk and Kim Tae Ri in the soon-to-be-released rom-com "Twenty-Five, Twenty-One."
The actress will transform as the national team's professional fencer Na Hee Do, while the "Start-Up" actor will play reporter Baek Yi Jin, who grew up in a wealthy family but experienced financial struggle.
Both main characters experience the IMF financial crisis, which made their life in turn 360.
WJSN's Bona, Lee Joo Myung and Choi Hyun Wook are also confirmed to appear in "Twenty-Five, Twenty-One."
