While in preparation for season two, Director Hwang Dong Hyuk shared his thoughts of having "Squid Game" season 3.
The Possibility of 'Squid Game' Season 3
Hwang Dong Hyuk mentioned in his previous interview on December 28 that he is also seeking to produce "Squid Game" season 3 following the official production of "Squid Game" season 2. However, Netflix, which produced the series, declined to give details regarding the project.
Meanwhile, in a K-media report by The Daily, an official representative from Netflix confirmed that they are discussing various aspects and possibilities of having "Squid Game" season 3 but nothing has been decided yet.
After Netflix released its statement, Director Hwang Dong Hyuk who appeared on KBS Newsline for an exclusive interview said "We are discussing 'Squid Game' Seasons 2 and 3 with Netflix." He added that the production team is positively trying to prepare for the next season because they know that many people are waiting for its release.
"Squid Game" was the first Korean drama that recorded the largest streaming number on Netflix. It is Netflix's most popular title so far. The series broke records worldwide and its stars Lee Jung Jae, Jung Ho Yeon, Park Hae Soo, Wi Ha Joon, Heo Sung Tae, and more received overwhelming support from the public after the series was released.

Where are the 'Squid Game' Cast Now?
Months after the success of "Squid Game" its cast are now dominating the entertainment world and became busy with their solo projects.
Model-turned-actress Jung Ho Yeon is currently booked with various international projects. She has been doing lots of magazine shoots and other fashion business abroad.
Lee Jung Jae on the other hand is busy working on his upcoming movie "Hunt." He is nominated at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards alongside "Squid Game" co-actor Oh Young Soo.
Park Hae Soo currently appears in OCN's Chimera and is gearing up for a new Netflix series namely "Suriname" and the Korean adaptation of "Money Heist."
Meanwhile, Wi Ha Joon is dominating the Friday-Saturday primetime with his new action-comedy drama "Bad and Crazy" alongside Korean heartthrob and "Goblin" actor Lee Dong Wook. While Heo Sung Tae plays the role of Chief Kim in Netflix's series "The Silent Sea."
Tripathi Anupam is packed with various TV show guestings and receiving new projects. Lee Yoo Mi is also preparing to work on a new drama to be released in 2022.
