Watcha's original series "Semantic Error" is attracting more viewers even after concluding on March 10.
The BL series is a university romance that follows the story of Chu Sang Woo (Park Jae Chan), computer science major who experiences ups and downs after meeting senior student Jang Jae Young (Park Seo Ham). "Semantic Error" is based on the original webtoon of the same name.

The drama adds solid story, three-dimensional characters, and a high synchronization rate with the original, creating a syndrome that not only fans of the original but also fans of the new drama.
Why 'Semantic Error' is a Hit
BL series "Semantic Error" premiered on February 16 and had its finale on March 10. With only eight episodes, "Semantic Error" had a successful run. The favorable reception for the drama led to a meaningful result, which surprised everyone by becoming the first place in Watcha's most watched series for three consecutive weeks. It also recorded high viewership ratings.
Its lead stars Park Seo Ham and Park Jae Chan also started to establish their names in the acting field. In fact, their previous magazine cover immediately went sold out, making it a surprise hit.
Though they share the same interest in music and came from two different K-pop groups, Jae Chan and Seo Ham worked for the first time through Watcha's "Semantic Error."
The success of the book also shook the industry. The serialized books received a lot of attention. The transaction amount on the first day of opening for web novels exceeded 916% compared to the previous record of 576%. Meanwhile, 312% of sales and 340% of sales volume were also recorded.
Furthermore, "Semantic Error" also occupied the trends list on Twitter since it premiered last February, proving that it was the fans' top topic over the weekend.
On the other hand, after the series' conclusion, drama's lead actor Park Seo Ham and former KNK member announced his military enlistment through Instagram post.
