In the most recent installment of Resident Playbook, Dr. Kim Jun Wan, played by Jung Kyung Ho, sparked chatter across social media platforms with his new visual style and seasoned charisma.

"OMG HELLO OUR KIM JUN WAN..." wrote one fan, reflecting what many across the fan syllabi felt.

Actually, Jun Wan was first introduced in Hospital Playlist as a pretty blunt and cold character at times, but he still became a fan favorite thanks to his hidden warmth and dry wit in the original series.

His return in Resident Playbook preserved that popular persona, but fans were particularly fixating on his noticeably sharper appearance.

As much as his cameo was foreshadowed in previous promotional materials, the full reveal of Jun Wan's return still surprised many viewers.

Despite the visual transformation, fans breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that the character's personality had remained intact.

"He's still funny and nice under that serious face," one viewer said in a now-viral thread on a forum.

The accompanying spinoff series, Resident Playbook, has featured cameos from a number of the original five doctors, stirring up the nostalgia that made Hospital Playlist complex and well-loved throughout Asia and beyond.

As for Jung Kyung Ho, who has continued to be active in both film and television, he has received praise for seamlessly returning to the character that helped shape his career.

As more episodes of Resident Playbook become available, viewers are excited to see if Jun Wan's appearance will become permanent.
