"Thirty-Nine" episode 9 is filled with love and romance as the trio Son Ye Jin, Kim Ji Hyun and Jeon Mi Do make the most out of the situation.

'Thirty-Nine' Episode 9 Recap: Cha Mi Jo Disappointed at Her Biological Mother
Titled "A Thousand Nights Over and Over Again," episode nine begins with a look back at Cha Mi Jo's (Son Ye Jin) childhood at the orphanage.
It showed how her adoptive mother and the rest of the family welcomed her into their home with open arms.
The next scene featured the present time with Mi Jo visiting her biological mother.
She was stunned by her reactions and showed no affection towards her, making her flustered and storm out of the prison.

Thankfully her best friends and Kim Seon Woo (Yeon Woo Jin) were waiting for her outside. She shared how her mother didn't even remember how Mi Jo looked when she was young and got disappointed with her reaction.
On the other hand, she wanted to tell her adoptive family about her encounter with her biological mom but couldn't find the right timing. Realizing how blessed she is and although she couldn't share it with them just yet, Mi Jo couldn't be more grateful to have her adoptive family in her life.
Kim Seon Woo's Father Gets Honest With Cha Mi Jo
Cha Mi Jo got a call that Kim Seok Woon's father wanted to meet her and so she did.
He gets straightforward and tells Mi Jo that he doesn't like her to be her daughter-in-law because she was adopted, which made Cha Mi Jo upset.
However, Mi Jo being bold and fearless, politely answered that she and Seok Woon both have their own decisions and can't blame them for falling in love. She also pointed out that it will not be the reason why they will break up, hinting that she will stand beside Seok Woon.
Despite a few bumps on the road in their relationship, Kim Seok knew that Mi Jo was the one for him.
He surprised him with an engagement ring and told her that she wanted to spend the rest of his life with Mi Jo.

Jung Chan Young Gets a Surprise Visit from Kim Jin Seok's Wife
Another highlight of "Thirty-Nine" episode 9 is the encounter of Jung Chan Young (Jeon Mi Do) and Kim Jin Seok's wife, Kang Seon Joo.
After revealing to her that she only has months to live, Chan Young was taken aback by the wife's confession.
Kang Seon Joo revealed how he and Kim Jin Seok met. It was the time when he was begging for Chan Young to take her back, but Seon Joo was selfish and wanted to be Jin Seok's woman.
Now, she is ready for the divorce but asks Cha Young to let Jin Seok persuade him to give her custody to their son, saying that this will be her second chance to be a good mom.
Creating Memories Together
Realizing that Chan Young is running out of time, the trio are together creating memories, whether good or bad. The latter part of "Thirty-NIne" episode 9 highlights the realization of Chan Young, Mi Jo and Joo hee that they shouldn't dwell on things that they can't control but make the most out of their life.
