Created and directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk, the survival game K-drama stars Lee Jung Jae as the debt-ridden Seong Gi Hoon, who was tempted to join the game because of his ballooning debt.

He joined 455 other contestants in hopes of winning the grand prize of a whopping 45.6 billion KRW or approximately 38,000,000 USD.

Cast also includes Par Hae Soo, Jung Ho Yeon, Wi Ha Joon, Golden Globes winner Oh Young Soo, and more.

Per Rotten Tomato, "Squid Game" garnered 95 percent while 83 percent on the audience score

'My Name'

Han So Hee transformed into a badass revenge-driven woman in "My Name" after trusting a mafia boss to avenge her father.

The 27-year-old actress surprised viewers with her combat skills for her first-ever action-packed K-drama. Joining her are Ahn Bo Hyun and versatile actor Park Hee Soon.

As noted by Rotten Tomato, "My Name" got a surprising 100 percent on the Tomatometer and 94 percent on the audience score.

Based on the comments, the viewers love the casting and action scenes. Others also mentioned that they are looking forward to season 2.

From thriller to action, Netflix also featured a slice of life and tear-jerking K-drama which stars Lee Je Hoon and Tang Jun Sang.

"Move to Heaven" follows the story of an 18-year-old Han Geu Roo, played by Tang Jun Sang, who was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome.

Despite this, he tries to live a normal life by helping his father run their business, Move To Heaven. Their job is to arrange items left by deceased people.

After his father died, he was taken care of by his uncle Cho Sang Gu, portrayed by Lee Je Hoon, who got convicted after engaging in a staged fight.

"Move to Heaven" scored 97 percent for audience score, as noted in Rotten Tomatoes.

'Hellbound'

Starring Yoo Ah In, "Hellbound" illustrates supernatural beings condemn individuals, particularly sinners, to hell.

It also struck the new religious group to The New Truth to grow influence and control their members with their beliefs.

Rotten Tomatoes scored "hellbound" 97 percent on the Tomatometer while 69 percent on the audience score.

'Vincenzo'

Of course, the list of top-rated K-drama of 2021 will not be complete without Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Been's "Vincenzo."

It follows the story of A Korean-Italian mafia lawyer who returns to his homeland to give his group a taste of its own medicine.

Viewers lauded Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Been's chemistry as they play partners in crime.

As noted in Rotten Tomatoes, "Vincenzo" garnered a 94 percent in audience score.
