Five years after the novel was published, "Again My Life" regains popularity after it becomes a drama, in which versatile actor Lee Joon Gi plays the main protagonist.
Novel & Drama Versions of 'Again My Life' Rise to Fame
SBS acquired the rights to produce the webtoon, "Again My Life," into a series, which premiered in the first quarter of this year. As it currently airs, the drama receives good reviews and continues to gain positive feedback from the viewers.
The drama adaptation successfully brought the original novel and webtoon back into the spotlight five years after it was published. Both the series and novel "Again My Life" have been earning immense popularity.
Originally, the novel was released in 2017 and soon developed into a web cartoon and is now converted into a drama, headlined by some of the top-performing actors in South Korea: award-winning actor Lee Joon Gi, Kim Ji Eun, Lee Kyoung Young, Jung Sang Hoon, Kim Jae Kyung, Lee Soon Jae, and more.

"Again My Life" follows the story of a skilled prosecutor, Kim Hee Woo (played by Lee Joon Gi), who gets murdered and has been given the chance to live again. As he mysteriously returns to life, Hee Woo planns to take revenge on those people who made him suffer.
SBS' 'Again My Life' Maintains High Viewership Ratings Since Episode 1
"Again My Life" airs every Friday and Saturday, and debuted on primetime last April 8. It also remains undefeated as the most-watched series in the Friday-Saturday slot as it shows consistency of high viewership ratings for five consecutive weeks. Episode 1 recorded an average score of 6 percent and achieved double ratings during episode 5.
Meanwhile, in "Again My Life" episode 11, which aired on May 13, the fantasy revenge K-series soared to new heights as it gained 10.7 percent ratings nationwide, according to Nielsen Korea. However, on its latest episode 12 had a slight decrease in ratings but managed to stay strong and recorded a nationwide rating of 9.5 percent.
On the other hand, Kakao Entertainment, which produced the webtoon, shared that the transactions of the series on the platform increased more than 70 times after it started airing on SBS primetime.
Kakao added that the drama and novel have completely different endings from each other that's why viewers and readers will enjoy both released versions.
"Again My Life" has four remaining episodes and will end its primetime journey on May 28. Be sure to watch the upcoming finale of Lee Joon Gi's drama.
