While the original "Money Heist" featured a Dali mask as a symbol of revolution against the system, the Korean adaptation uses Hahoe masks, a traditional mask worn in the Hahoe Pyolshin-gut t'al nori ceremony.

As obtained by a local outlet, Director Kim Hong Sun explained the representation of the traditional mask in the upcoming series.

According to him, it is a "representative mask that all the citizens of Korea know and the joke that the Hahoe mask has suited the project well."

Jang Yoon Joo, who plays Nairobi, also pointed out that the mask exudes "anger and mystery," while Park Hae Soo says that the Hahoe mask also showcases "freedom or the criticism of the classes of power."
