Girls' Generation member and actress Choi Sooyoung reportedly received a casting offer to star in new webtoon-based K-drama, "NamNam" (working title). She is courtedt to play the character of Jin Hee, a cool and loving daughter who has a solid relationship with her mom Eum Mi.

Choi Sooyoung Courted To Lead 'NamNam' With Jeon Hye Jin

The potential work of the idol-actress is based on a Kakao webtoon of the same name. "NamNam" centers its story around a mother-daughter relationship.

"Misty" actress Jeon Hye Jin is also a candidate to lead the series. She is expected to play Sooyoung's mother named Eum Mi.

According to News1, the two celebrities' agencies confirmed that they are considering starring in the adaptation.

If the "So I Married an Anti-Fan" lead star accepts the role, "NamNam" will mark her second drama following "Tell Me Your Wish," also known as "If You Say Your Wish."

Sooyoung was supposed to lead the "A Country Diary" drama, along with singer-actor Jang Geun Suk, but the production got canceled. She now passed the role to Red Velvet member and actress Joy.

Choi Sooyoung's K-Drama With Ji Chang Wook To Air in August

SNSD's Sooyoung is returning to the small screen this coming August with "If You Say Your Wish," alongside Ji Chang Wook and Sung Dong Il. It is a healing K-series set in a hospice.

It follows the stories of individuals who wish to have peaceful deaths. The drama is inspired by the Ambulance Wish Foundation, which originally premiered in the Netherlands. The charity program grants wishes to terminally-ill patients.

The drama will occupy Wednesday and Thursday slots at 9:50 p.m. (KST) on KBS.

Furthermore, "The Cursed" director Kim Yong Wan is in charge of the series, and writer Jo Ryeong Soo penned the script.

Meanwhile, Sooyoung and her Girls' Generation co-members are gearing for their much-anticipated group comeback this August. They are to commemorate their 15th anniversary since their debut in 2007.

This will be SNSD's first group comeback after five years.
