It's a tight race between Kim Min Jae's K-drama "Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist" versus the crime comedy series "Cafe Minamdang" starring Seo In Guk.
The Monday-Tuesday series get viewers torn with their completely different series as the two K-dramas head on a fierce competition.
Kim Min Jae's 'Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist' Versus Seo In Guk's 'Cafe Minamdang'
In a report, Nielsen Korea cited that tvN's "Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist" scored an average nationwide rating of 5.0 percent for its sixth episode, which is a slight dip from episode 5, garnering an average nationwide of 5.9 percent.
Interestingly, it is the historical drama's personal best since it made its debut on August 1.
On the other hand, KBS2's "Café Minamdang'' also reached an average nationwide rating of 5.0 percent.
However, unlike the historical series, Seo In Guk's K-drama enjoyed a slight increase from its previous episode of 4.5 percent.
Is 'Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist' Worth Watching?
Kim Min Jae's new drama is tvN's latest historical series which follows the story of a young legendary physician named Yoo Se Yeop, who was caught up in a conspiracy involving the King's death.
With this, he was accused of killing the royal and was expelled from his position and banned from the town of Hanyang.
Together with his aid, Man Bok, played by Ahn Chang Hwan, the two decide to move to a different town where no one knew them.
Due to an unexpected circumstance, they ended up at a local clinic located at the Gyesu village, run by a physician named Kye Ji Han (Kim Sang Kyung).
With the guidance of the senior physician, Yoo Se Yeop, who changed his name to Yoo Se Poong, was motivated to continue treating people and become the town's young doctor.
Joining them is Lady Seo Eun Woo, played by Kim Hyang Gi, who was once their patient.
After the death of her husband, her mother-in-law mistreated her, prompting her to seek the local town's clinic.
With her deep empathy and observational skills, she decides to join them and study medicine under the supervision of Yoon Se Poong.

While Kim Min Jae's K-drama is about to reach its second half, KBS2's "Café Minamdang'' starring Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo, are set to have its final week in August 22.
With only 2 episodes left, Nam Han Joon (Seo In Guk) and Lieutenant Han Jae Hee (Oh Yeon Seo) are about to discover the real Gopuri.
Initially, the duo, with their team, believed it was Chairman Cha Seung Won, but the recent episodes illustrate how the former criminal profiler and the police officer fall into Prosecutor Cha Do Won's (Kwon Soo Hyun) trap.
