The star-studded Netflix series "Little Women" dipped slightly in terms of its viewership ratings in its second week of broadcast but luckily, it successfully recovered in no time.
Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun and Park Ji Hu seamlessly transform into three beautiful sisters but the decision to stray away from the original plot might do more damage than good to the production.
'Little Women' Recovers From Slight Decline With New Episode
Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun and Park Ji Hu's "Little Women" completely won over the hearts of the viewers during its premiere, thanks to its unstoppable cast and impressive cinematography.
In its second week, the series managed to draw great feedback from the public; however, it drew a much lesser score than its rating during the premiere.
"Little Women" released its brand new episode on September 11 and earned an average rating of 7.2%.
It is higher than the previously recorded rating of 5.5%, which marks the lowest score of the drama yet. Unfortunately, the new score was 0.5% short of surpassing its highest rating, which was recorded during the second episode.

As the drama progressed and featured more twists and turns, "Little Women" is expected to soar higher and achieve an all-time high rating until its conclusion.
'Little Women' Plot Changes Speculated To Cause Low Ratings
Although it is one of the biggest dramas in the roster at the moment, "Little Women" still receives quite a lot of negative feedback from the public.
"Little Women" follows the stories of three sisters who dream of a lavish life after growing up poor, and suddenly get embroiled in embezzlement issues along with the most influential family in South Korea.
The drama has a few similarities to the original novel of the same name, but the apparent differences didn't sit quite well with fans.
In Louisa May Alcott's book, there are four sisters namely, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy. However, in the series, there are only three sisters played by Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun and Park Ji Hu.
Many fans also criticized the tension, crime and thriller elements that were added in the series, which was supposedly a "family-centered drama."

On the other hand, most fans including the international viewers received the drama well, and even praised the ingenuity of the series rather than creating scenes straight from the novel.
Meanwhile, the production unit of the series reminded everyone that "Little Women" is not a remake or a feature film, but rather, an interpretation of director Kim Hee Won's understanding of the novel.
