Released on September 9, the six-part episode series is currently among the most watched tv shows on the streaming platform.

Based on Flix Patrol's September 13 ranking, "Narco-Saints" advances from eighth to the third spot, beating fellow K-contents like "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and "The Young Lady and Gentleman" which have been in Netflix's top 10 tv shows for weeks.

The action crime series is next to "Cobra Kai" and Peter Morgan's blockbuster series "The Crown."

Interestingly, "Narco-Saints" is currently in first place in eight countries, which are Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, Morocco, Kenya, Hong Kong, and the Bahamas.

With the skyrocketing popularity of "Narco-Saints," some predicted that it will follow the success achieved by "Squid Game" in the global entertainment scene.

It can be recalled that the Hwang Dong Hyuk-directed series advances to the top spot in Netflix's top 10 tv shows in less than a week since it made its premiere.

Moreover, the platform named "Squid Game" as one of their "biggest launch yet" not to mention the major achievement they scored in the recently held Emmy Awards 2022.

Directed by Yoon Jong Bin of "KUNDO : Age of the Rampant" and "The Spy Gone North," the six-part episode series is based on a true story of a civilian businessman who moved from South Korea to Suriname for business.

Kang In Gu, played by Ha Jung Woo traveled all the way to South America for a business venture of transporting skate fish to South Korea along with his longtime friend.

However, they get caught up in an illegal business by pastor and drug lord Jeon Yo Hwan, who uses his religious group to trade narcotics in and out of South America.

At the prison, Kang In Gu meets NIS agent Choi Chang Ho, played by Park Hae Soo, who offers him a generous amount of reward to be their undercover and work with Jeon Yo Hwan for the time being.

"Narco-Saints" also featured Yoo Yeon Seok as Jeon Yo Hwan's legal adviser and Jo Woo Jin as Chinese-Korean Byun Ki Tae, who is the pastor's, right-hand man.

The thrilling K-drama also included Taiwanese actor Chang Chen as Chinese drug lord Chen Zhen, who is the pastor's nemesis.

Viewers get to see suspense and a whole lot of mind-boggling scenes as Kang In Woo teams up with NIS to arrest one of the most wanted drug lords in South Korea.
