Interestingly, after the successful premiere, Kim Hye Soo's new drama continued with another significant increase in viewership. According to Nielsen Korea, the historical drama series climbed to an average nationwide rating of 9.1 percent.

Once again, "Under the Queen's Umbrella" took the position as the most-watched series on its time slot across all channels.

'Under the Queen's Umbrella' Episode 2: Will History Repeat Itself for Queen Im Hwa Ryeong?

As Queen Im Hwa Ryeong learns about the Crown Prince's deteriorating health, she makes a move to prevent the same incident with the late Crown Prince Taein.

After meeting the deposed Queen Yoon, she received a warning from the former royal to protect his sons at all costs.

Moreover, she also advised her to prepare them for succession in case something happened to the current Crown Prince.

"Under the Queen's Umbrella" episode 2 featured the devastating fate that happened to Queen Yoon and her sons after all of them tragically died despite leaving away from the palace and without having the intention of reclaiming the throne.

The Queen Prepares the Grand Princes as Cohorts

One of the highlights in "Under the Queen's Umbrella" episode 2 is about Prince Gye Seong's identity.

The queen and her court lady followed his son as he secretly went to a hidden quarter inside the palace.

Here, she discovered the prince's secret and was shocked to find out the truth about him.

She ends up pouring her heart out and releasing her frustrations about one of her sons but knew that she couldn't do anything about it.

However, as Prince Gye Seong secretly visited his hideout, one of the concubines followed him and accidentally found out about his secret.
