Hallyu is on the rise as broadcasting networks continue to deliver a slew of interesting series and movies ; however, viewers still love to rewatch award winning K-dramas that took the world by storm.
Interesting, Netflix showcases several series, from newly released to OG TV shows, but it's a good feeling to binge watch the most awarded Korean dramas.
From the Song-Song couple's "Descendants of the Sun" to Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun's "Goblin," here are five award-winning K-dramas to stream on Netflix.
'Descendants of the Sun'
Released in 2016, "Descendants of the Sun" is Song Hye Kyo's K-drama comeback after the 2013 series "That Winter, the Wind Blows."
Interestingly, this is also Song Joong Ki's first K-drama after his military discharge.
As mentioned, it stars Song Hye Kyo as cardiothoracic surgeon Kang Mo Yeon, who falls in love with Alpha team captain Yoo Shin Jin, played by Song Joong Ki.
At the time, "Descendants of the Sun" was among the most watched K-dramas, scoring a 40.5 percent viewership rating during the finale episode.
In addition, Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki's K-drama garnered not just one but 45 awards, both international and local.
Among them are Outstanding Korean Actor at the 11th Seoul International Drama Awards, Drama of the Year, and Daesang for Song Joong Ki at the 5th APAN Star Awards.
'Goblin'
Also known as "Guardian: The Lonely and the Great God," "Goblin" made its premiere in 2016 via tvN.
It stars Kim Go Eun as Ji Eun Tak, a high school student who is destined to be the goblin's bride, while Gong Yoo plays the unbeatable general in Goryeo's military, Kim Shin.

Apart from the duo, Lee Dong Wook took on the role of the grim reaper, whose loveline is Sunny, played by Yoo In Na.
"Goblin" took home a total of 26 awards, including Daesang for Screenwriter and Best Actor for Gong Yoo at the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards.
Interestingly, viewers could watch the 16-part episode K-drama on Netflix.
'The Heirs'
Starring Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye, "The Heirs," also titled "The Inheritors," on Netflix received 23 awards and 49 nominations.
Also considered an all-time favorite K-dramas, viewers witnessed the versatility of the lead stars fellow cast members, including Kim Woo Bin and Kim Ji Won.
"The Heirs" won Best Actor and Actress, as well as Best New Actress and Actor, at the 21st SBS Drama Awards.
'My Love From the Star'
Headlined by Kim So Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun, viewers love the comedic on screen chemistry of the duo as they portray Do Min Joon and Hallyu star Cheon Song Yi.
According to reports, "My Love from the Star" wrapped up the season with a nationwide average of 33.2 percent.
Interestingly, the rom-com K-drama took home two Daesang for Jun Ji Hyun at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards and the 2014 SBS Drama Awards.
'When the Camellia Blooms'
Gong Hyo Jin won the daesang at the 2019 KBS Drama Awards, while Kang Ha Neul was hailed as Best Actor for his role as local police officer Hwang Yong Shik in "When the Camellia Blooms."
The rom-com drama is Gong Hyo Jin's comeback series after the success of "Jealousy Incarnate" back in 2016.
