Netflix introduced a unique all-female survival competition through "Siren: Survive the Island."
Released on May 30, 24 amazingly strong women in various fields were grouped according to their profession.
Divided into six groups, it consists of female police officers, firefighters, athletes, soldiers, bodyguards, and stuntwomen, with each group having a team leader.
Unlike the previous survival competition show, "Physical: 100," the concept of "Siren: Survive the Island" is to highlight the profession of these 24 strong women who worked in a male-dominated industry.
As a catch, they have to win against other teams while on a remote island.
'Siren: Survive the Island' Cast
The 10 part episode series was divided into two broadcasts.
The first was released during the premiere, while the second part aired on June 6.
Viewers are looking forward to seeing who among the six teams will win the last challenge.
However, unlike other survival competitions, "Siren: Survive the Island" does not have a cash prize.
According to a media outlet, the show's PD Lee Eun Kyung, said that there's no winning prize involved since the "participants are public servants who have staked their professional honor on this competition."
Moreover, Lee Eun Kyung also pointed out that the contestants didn't join "to fight for money but for honor."
Despite this, the PD revealed that cast members were given a token for their effort to join the show.
"We value the time and courage of everyone who participated in our show, so we decided to give an equal fee to all for the seven days."
Will There be 'Siren: Survive the Island' Season 2?
As of this writing, Netflix and officials of the survival reality show have yet to confirm if "Siren: Survive the Island" season 2 is possible.
