With only a few weeks left before the highly-anticipated release, "The Worst of Evil" dropped a sneak peek at what to expect in the upcoming K-drama, headlined by Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Joon, and Im Se Mi.
Showcasing the trio's chemistry, the latest still cuts hint at the tension between the three lead stars.
'The Worst of Evil' Stills Feature Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Joon, Im Se Mi's Characters
The crime-action K-drama is set in the 1990s and focuses on the investigation to hunt down a big illegal drug cartel based in Gangnam. The group was responsible for the massive drug trade in Korea, Japan, and China.
Taking on the role of undercover detective Park Joon Mo, Ji Chang Wook engages in a mission with Yoo Eui Jung, played by Im Se Mi. She is an elite narcotics officer who happens to be Park Joon Mo's wife.
In the latest still cuts, the couple and work partner meet Jung Ki Chul, who is the mob boss ruling the Gangnam drug cartel, which was played by Wi Ha Joon.
As seen on the still cuts, the trio had a heated face-off as the high-stakes operation began.
'The Worst of Evil' Cast, Director Tease Viewers on What to Expect in Upcoming Drama
The drama's lead stars gave hints regarding their roles and the connection between other characters.
As obtained by a media outlet, Wi Ha Joon, who plays the antagonist in "The Worst of Evil," shared that viewers will get to see "a lot of spectacular, rough, and flashy action scenes," alongside remarkable depth and "inner details, subtle performances, and tension" between the characters.

Meanwhile, Im Se Mi hints that the backstories will play a big role in how the story progresses, adding, "There's a lot that the characters want to protect in their relationships."
On the other hand, "The Worst of Evil" director Han Dong Wook said that the series will show off the significance of Park Joon Mo and Jung Ki Chul's dynamics as well as the thrilling action stunts.
"The key focus was the relationships between these characters," the director said, adding, "Even in action sequences, I aimed for the characters' emotions to take precedence over technical stunts."
'The Worst of Evil' Release Date
Joining the trio, "The Worst of Evil" cast also includes BIBI and B.A.P.'s Zelo.
As for the premiere date, the upcoming K-drama is set to officially hit the small screens on September 27.
Viewers get to watch the 12-episode K-drama via Disney+ and Hulu.
On the other hand, the upcoming K-drama is Ji Chang Wook's follow-up project after the 2022 series "If You Wish Upon Me."
