If you happen to love a certain K-drama, it's usual to look for season 2 of that particular show; however, some networks and platforms take months or even years to release a sequel.
On the other hand, there are some who chose to release a spin-off instead of a new season. The difference is that the spin-off of the show tends to introduce new characters, while the sequel is the continuation of the original show.
