Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung's historical romance drama "Captivating the King" finally made its debut this January.
In its first two episodes, a dynasty crumbles down, banishing the prince to the abyss. Jo Jung Suk fatefully meets Shin Se Kyung, much to the viewers' delight.

Grand Prince Lee In Gets Banished
After the king decides to surrender to the Qing dynasty, the Joseon dynasty crumbles down. With this, the Qing empire sends grand prince Lee In (Jo Jung Suk) to exile. However, he befriends the Qing emperor's brother and plays Go with him.
He is saved from being killed, and was only held captive as a slave. Years later, he returns to Joseon, only to be hated by the king who is his elder brother.
Lee In Meets Go Player Kang Mong Woo
Lee In is asked to leave the palace while a soldier is appointed to tail him as he's in suspicion of being a spy.
Later on, he sees a Go player and plays with him, making Lee In emotional. Unbeknownst to his playmate, Kang Mong Woo, he's the grand prince.
Lee In learns that Kang Mong Woo is his master's daughter, Kang Hee Soo (Shin Se Kyung), who tends to disguise herself as a man and earn money through Go.
She wants to save up money to bring back the captives from the Qing dynasty by paying them the ransom. Days passed, the two grew closer than ever.
Will Lee In Discover Kang Mong Woo's Biggest Secret?
Lee In and Kang Hee Soo promise to play Go whenever it drizzles. Soon, the latter falls for the grand prince.
Meanwhile, Kim Myung Ha (Lee Shin Young), the king's son who is a master of archery and swordsmanship, visits the woods with his friends.

He finds the disguised Kang Hee Soo and feels upset, especially when he sees her with Lee In. Kang Hee Soo is the maiden that he's supposed to marry.
