SLL's Produced K-Dramas Gain Immense Popularity Abroad

Based on the news cited by a media outlet, the dramas produced by SLL are being remade around the world. Apart from gaining popularity in Korea, it also received recognition in the global market.

SLL delivered good news on January 30 saying that they succeeded in signing remake contracts for various IPs in 2023. It has been said that interest and popularity are increasing as opportunities to see K-dramas increase in different cultural areas such as Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Turkey, and the Middle East.

Viu Lead Production for 'Reborn Rich' & 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' Remakes

Song Joong Ki's "Reborn Rich" will have a remake in Thailand in partnership with Viu, Asia's largest pan-regional OTT platform. During its run on primetime, it recorded high ratings and was nominated in various award ceremonies in and outside Korea.

Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik's "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" is set to have a remake in Malaysia. The 2017 romance-fantasy series attracted a lot of attention even after the end of its broadcast, which led to the production of a spin-off "Strong Woman Gang Nam Soon" in 2023.

Viu Korea's CEO Son Min Jung said, "We are putting a lot of effort into the composition of the production team and the lineup of actors to complete the best remake, and we will do our best to create a global box office hit just like the original."

'King the Land' & 'Doctor Cha' Confirmed to Have Turkish Remake

Meanwhile, in Turkey, the production company MF YAPIM has confirmed the remake of "King the Land" and "Doctor Cha." It is expected that the Turkish version of the medical series will be an impressive work.

Lee Junho and YoonA's romance drama which recorded 4 million global views and 24.5 million viewing hours in a week from June 26 to July 2, 2023, and topped Netflix's global top 10 in the non-English category is already receiving anticipation for its first-ever international remake.

The mystery series "Misty" which aired in 2018 will have a remake in the Middle East.

Lastly, the suspense-thriller series "Beyond Evil" starring Yeo Jin Goo and veteran actor Shin Ha Kyun is confirmed to have a Japanese remake.
