Kim Go Eun Reminisces Time Filming the Smash Hit K-Drama 'Goblin'

Kim Go Eun made her first guest appearance on singer Jung Jae Hyung's YouTube variety talk show aired on February 4.

During their talk, the sought-after actress reminisced about filming her 2016 smash hit drama "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" also known as "Goblin." Kim Go Eun explained that until she filmed the series, she wasn't familiar with shooting dramas, since she mostly worked on films.

She shared that on the first day of filming, the production crew told her that she could move freely as she acted, which she did.

The "Little Women" star added that the crew would take more than 40 takes for one scene, and the actress realized that shooting a drama is exhausting. She also came to a realization that she was the one making everyone exhausted.

Kim Go Eun elaborated, "The cameraman was shooting every single movement that I made. Even if I moved a little, they would not miss that and film me doing that from different angles. I had no idea that they were recording every moment that I made."

She went on, "After several takes, I began to get to know how things worked for drama shootings. I felt bad about giving the team such a difficult time until that moment. So, from that experience, I stopped making unnecessary movements. I was able to learn a lot from filming a series."

Kim Go Eun Reveals Experiencing Burnout After 'Goblin's' Success

Apart from the things she learned from working on her first drama, the Korean star also shared the changes she had after the drama concluded.

Even though "Goblin" achieved tremendous success and became one of the best K-dramas of all time, Kim Go Eun revealed that she could not fully enjoy the series' success for this reason.

According to the lead star, "I experienced burnout after 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.' I was even scared of meeting and being around people. I just couldn't meet anyone. Because of that, I couldn't even think about working on another project."

But Kim Go Eun realized that she couldn't stay like that for a long time if she wanted to keep acting.

"There will be a lot of moments like that in the future where I'll experience similar kinds of feelings, but I can't just be turning down scripts all the time. So, I chose my next work, which was 'Sunset in My Hometown."

Furthermore, Kim Go Eun is returning to the silver screen this February 22 as she joins the stellar cast of the upcoming occult movie "Exhuma."
