Kim Go Eun Shares Her Acting Experiences for More Than A Decade
Kim Go Eun appeared as a guest on Fairy Jae Hyung's YouTube channel on February 4. The actress talked more about her career and shared thoughts about the actors' and actresses' professional fees. She attracted attention for her honest answers.
Kim Go Eun entered the business in 2012 through the film "Eungyo," which featured unconventional exposure, since then, she received love calls from various directors and established her name by appearing in different dramas.
Through her years of acting, she already gained recognition for her past works such as "Goblin," "The King: Eternal Monarch," "Yumi's Cells," and "Little Women."
As she began the conversation, the actress humbly explained that she doesn't think rookies are that influential, based on her own experience.
"When I was a rookie, I thought I should experience the field with good seniors. I thought that the seniors were all similar, so they were dealing with me who had no experience."
She also showed her gratitude to veteran actors Lee Byung Hun, Jeon Do Yeon, and Kim Hye Soo.
Kim Go Eun Remarks About the Actors' Appearance Fee Garner Attention
As the conversation continued, it led to the ongoing controversy about the increasing rates of the actors' appearance fees today. As someone who has been in the industry and has been working passionately with her craft, Kim Go Eun honestly said, "You should get your money's worth."
Meanwhile, Jae Hyung asked if Kim Go Eun still felt anxious even though her work became a hit.
In response, the actress humorously said, "There is sadness and anxiety when a project doesn't work out. I think that's a bit of conscience and responsibility for the pay I receive as an actor." She added, "When I say, 'You should get your money's worth,' I really mean it."
According to the award-winning actress, "It's meaningless to do pop culture art and no one sees it. No matter how much meaning we put into our work, we hope that as many people as possible will see it, and even if we get criticized, it's better for them to see and criticize us."
Kim Go Eun's honest remarks about appearance fees and her dedication to acting showed how she tried her best in her work and how sincere she was as an actress.
On the other hand, Kim Go Eun is returning to the big screen with the occult mystery film "Exhuma" where she is expected to portray the role of a shaman. She will share the frame with Lee Do Hyun, Choi Min Sik, and Yoo Hae Jin.
Exhuma is scheduled to hit the cinemas beginning February 22.
