Jo Jung Suk once again shows his evil side in the brand new episode of "Captivating the King." In retaliation, Shin Se Kyung sets up a plan that will obliterate the ruler's existence. Will she really kill the king? Here's what went down in episode 12.

Lee In Finds His Heir

The new episode begins with Lee In (Jo Jung Suk) gathering the people after the palace sets on fire due to the thunder.

Kim Myung Ha (Lee Shin Young) comes forward and asks the king to punish him. He thinks that the thunder in heaven is angry at him for not taking care of his brother's peach tree.

Moved by his nephew's bravery, he declines the punishment which further angers the principal director. The latter also becomes jealous when the king favors the inspector general more.

Because of this, he looks for a new queen after the queen dowager comes clean of her sickness. He believes that he finally has the chance to get into the royal family.

Kang Hee Soo Learns About Lee In's Evil Plans

Lee In visits the queen after learning that she will pass away anytime. The queen asks him to adopt grand prince Moon Seong (Hong Jun Woo) to make him his heir and the crown prince.

Elsewhere, Kang Hee Soo and Kim Myung Ha visit the minister of military to make them give off his daughter to Moon Seong, and support the petition to make him the royal heir.

However, the crown prince is doomed. Kang Hee Soo learns that whoever becomes heir will be eliminated. She couldn't believe Lee In's evil thoughts, making her suffer in silence.

The following day, the king adopts Moon Seong. The queen happily passes away knowing that she now has an heir. Kang Hee Soo plans Lee In's assassination on the same night.

Will Kang Hee Soo Really Kill Lee In?

On his way to Kang Hee Soo's home, Lee In is oblivious of what's about to happen to his life, especially now that he's set to finally become the most powerful royalty in Joseon.

Unbeknownst to him, Chu Dal Ha (Na Hyun Woo), Kang Hee Soo's right hand man, is hiding at the king's regular meeting spot to assassinate the Joseon ruler.

However, Kang Hee Soo stops Lee In just before they go in, and begins crying. Lee In becomes curious, asking whether she has another lover inside.

When she doesn't respond, Lee In asks her whether there's an assassin who will kill him that night. "Captivating the King" episode 11 ends with the king's bitter realization.
