Jeon So Nee Shares Affection For New Netflix Series
On March 25, rising actress Jeon So Nee appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U's "Noon Hope Song" broadcast to promote her brand new series "Parasyte: The Grey."
The actress confidently asked the public to tune in to the dark fantasy show, which is slated to hit the brown screens this April.
In the series, Jeon So Nee transforms into a young woman who shares a symbiotic relationship with a parasite from outer space which plans to invade the Earth.
"Parasyte: The Grey" marks the actress' first-ever psychological thriller work after only taking on slice of life and romance works like "When My Love Blooms" and "Our Blooming Youth."
With this, expectations are high for the actress' transformation. According to her, she focused on perfecting her role to further highlight the themes that appear in the Netflix series.
Since it's based on a Japanese webtoon, the actress spent 7 hours reading the comic series to study her character. She said, "I wanted to experience the depth of the original work."
Jeon So Nee Dishes On Comparisons Against Kim Da Mi
In the same guest appearance, the actress addressed the circulating issue in online communities involving herself and fellow Hallyu star Kim Da Mi.
Since both artists took on challenging works varying from romance to thriller, netizens made a lot of comparisons between the two. In addition to that, they also starred in a film together.
In 2023, Jeon So Nee and Kim Da Mi played best friends in the melodrama "Soulmate," and became real-life BFFs after the film premiered.
With this, Jeon So Nee finds the comparisons absurd, especially since "Parasyte: The Grey" and "The Witch," Kim Da Mi's notable work, are very different despite having the same genre.
"Is it really a huge fight between two actresses?" Jeon So Nee pointed out. However, she made everyone laugh when she joked, "But there's only one Ja Yoon and there's two of us so I win."
The actress made references to Kim Da Mi's character in "The Witch" film series, and her upcoming character Jung Su In who is living as half-human, half-beast in "Parasyte: The Grey."
