The Midnight Romance in Hagwon

With a number of series ending in May, broadcast networks and streaming platforms are introducing a slew of new K-dramas premiering this week.

Viewers will get to see another set of different K-dramas making their debut, leaving fans excited to watch new stories and on-screen chemistries.

With that said, check out the list of new K-dramas that you need to add to your watch list this May.

'The Brave Yong Soo Jung'

MBC introduced the melodrama "The Brave Yong Soo Jung" on May 6, with Seo Joon Young, Uhm Hyun Kyung, Im Ju Eun, and Kwon Hwa Woon taking on the lead roles.

Helmed by Lee Min Soo of "The Secret House" and Kim Mi Sook of the 2019 series "Bad Love," the newly released K-drama "The Brave Yong Su Jeong" depicts an exhilarating and heart-fluttering journey of romance and revenge.

Taking on the titular role of Yong Soo Jung (Uhm Hyun Kyung), she is a popular shopping host who has garnered a ton of female fans for her straightforward personality and honest reviews.

However, despite her strong personality on camera, Soo Jung can't express her feelings towards a man; even just an eye contact makes her flustered.

Due to this, her romantic life is struggling. However, things changed when she met the successor of the Masung Group, Joo Woo Jin, played by Kwon Hwa Woon, whom she had a secret crush on.

While Soo Jung was swooned over by Woo Jin's charm, Yeo Eui Joo, played by Seo Joon Young, entrusted his fate to Soo Jung for one reason.

Airing over MBC, viewers get to see the dynamics of Seo Joon Young, Uhm Hyun Kyung, Im Ju Eun, and Kwon Hwa Woon as "The Brave Yong Soo Jung" airs every Monday to Friday at 7:05 p.m. KST.

Other than MBC, the melodrama is also available for global viewers by streaming through Viki.

'The Midnight Romance in Hagwon'

Another romance drama premiering this first week of May is "The Midnight Romance in Hagwon."

Headlined by Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon, the series focuses on Lee Joon Ho (Wi Ha Joon) returning to the academy as a professor after resigning from a top company.

In his new workplace, he gets a lingering fixation on his fellow professor Seo Hye Jin (Jung Ryeo Won.), who worked as a Korean language teacher for 14 years; she is dubbed the "Miracle of Daechi."

Interestingly, she also learned that Joon Ho was her former student.

"The Midnight Romance in Hagwon" release date is set for May 11, airing every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m. KST.

Viewers get to watch the latest episode via TVN and Viki.
