"Hierarchy" continues to gain popularity despite the mixed reaction from viewers.

A new spin on school themed K-drama, the 7 episode series showcases the revenge of an ordinary student who goes against the elite and influential group of high school students.

Set in the fictional Jooshin High School, the most prestigious university in South Korea, where sons and daughters of top conglomerate owners, politicians, and powerful individuals study.

Interestingly, the protagonist, Kang Ha, played by Lee Chae Min, managed to enter the university through its scholarship program, bringing him on a mission to uncover the mysterious death of his twin brother.

Joining Lee Chae Min are fellow rising stars Roh Jeong Eui, Kim Jae Won, Ji Hye Won, and Lee Won Jung as lead stars.

Other than the promising cast lineup, viewers are also drawn to the premise of "Hierarchy" and how it depicts the education system in South Korea.

However, netizens have mixed reactions to the intimate scenes featured in the drama, particularly the student-teacher relationship.

Due to Ms. Han's profession and Woo Jin's status as the son of a political figure, the two agreed to keep their relationship a secret.

In a post shared in an online community, a user warned viewers regarding the premise of "Hierarchy." Titled "The Drama Premise That I Am Currently Worried About" it reiterated that some scenes may need guidance from adults.

"It's a high-teen romance drama, but in articles, they state that there will be unprecedented levels of nudity."

Meanwhile, the team behind "Hierarchy" explained the reason for showcasing intimate scenes in the story.

"The difference is that the children who lived in the solid world created by the royal family for granted are breaking that idea and growing up," he said through Netflix; however, as for "Hierarchy," the protagonist, who belonged to the lower class, showed resistance to the system, pushing other students to break the cycle.

As for the provocative scenes, "Hierarchy" also showed a true glimpse of South Korea.

"There are not many school dramas that delve into school problems as explicitly as in Korea, so it attracts attention overseas as content that shows the harsh reality of Korea."
