Accordingly, before going to Seo Yeon, Lee Geon secretly made a promise to Myung Yoon to meet at Buyong Jeong without the knowledge of Hae Jong.

Lee Geon was waiting for Myung Yoon and hid himself to play a prank, but held his breath when he suddenly heard Min Soo Ryeon and Choi Sang Rok's voices. Through their conversation, he discovered that Sang Rok didn't kill Myung Yoon's mother.

Unfortunately, Choi Myung Yoon came and saw her father with Soo Ryeon and expressed her anger. After watching this scenario, Lee Geon handed Myung Yoon flowers and consoled her heart.

However, the excitement was short-lived as Choi Myung Yoon remembered Hae Jong's last words to her that she and the crown prince would not be together.

Elsewhere, Hae Jong's condition deteriorated rapidly, and fainted in front of his people. He had a conversation with Lee Geon and requested him to do the things he was planning to do. Hae Jong then personally placed the crown on Lee Geon, handed him the royal seal, and declared him as the new king.

Afterward, after the ceremony, Lee Geon sat on the throne and ordered his subjects to dethrone and imprison Jung Jeon and Dae Seong.

Meanwhile, Sang Rok returned to the palace to protect his unborn child, after deep consideration while running away with Soo Ryeon. However, after a heated argument after finding out that Myung Yoon stole his secret ledger to treat Hae Jong, he cut off the relationship with his daughter. The next day, Sang Rok met with Yoon Yi Gyeon and Yoon Jeong Dae in prison and attempted to revolt with the intention of putting Prince Doseong on the throne.
