Ju Ji Hoon honored the late Lee Sun Kyun during the press conference of his upcoming movie "Project Silence."
One of the highly anticipated films this July, the movie depicts the story of people wanting to survive while being caught up in the middle of a military experiment.
Viewers will get to see show-stopping action scenes as the movie showcases collapsing bridges, helicopter crashes, a 100-car collision, and numerous attacks from experimental military dogs.
Other than the twisted catastrophic event, "Project Silence" also featured one of the two posthumous projects of veteran actor Lee Sun Kyun before he passed away.
In an interview with a local media outlet, Ju Ji Hoon talked about his experience filming the movie. Among them is his working relationship with the late actor.
Ju Ji Hoon Dishes on His Closeness With Lee Sun Kyun
Describing Lee Sun Kyun as a "good colleague and senior actor," Ju Ji Hoon said working with him is "always precious."
Moreover, he also said that he "has happy memories," especially during the filming of "Project Silence."
"Lee Sun Kyun and I have similar personalities and tastes," he said, adding that every actor has their own style of acting and their own preferences.
Recalling their bonding off and on-camera, Ju Ji Hoon hints that he and the senior actor are getting along really well on the set.
"While some people spend time alone after filming and resting, we weren't the type to stay in our own rooms during or after filming. Two or three of us would gather, drink, and talk a lot. We're people who don't divide work and afterwork well. We don't have proper meetings with laptops, but we eat, drink, and talk about the project every single day without fail."
Furthermore, the actor also added that it would be nice if viewers got to see their similarities in the upcoming movie.
Ju Ji Hoon continued to praise Lee Sun Kyun and mentioned that, despite their similarities, there are also things that set him apart from his co-star.
"Sun Kyun is more detailed than I am. I'm the type that thinks it's okay to take some dramatic license when editing, but Sun Kyun is the type that thinks, 'If this is like this, it doesn't make sense.'"
The "Kingdom" star also mentioned that he learned a lot from just observing Lee Sun Kyun's work. In the upcoming movie, Lee Sun Kyun plays the role of Jung Won, the security office administrator who was headed to the airport to send off his daughter when the bridge collapsed.
As for Ju Ji Hoon, he portrays the role of the hippie-looking tow truck driver named Jo Bak.
Adding to the cast of "Project Silence" is Kim Hee Won as senior researcher Dr. Yang.
Meanwhile, fans will get to see the upcoming movie hit theaters on July 12.
