After promoting his latest film, I, the Executioner, Jung, who is famously known for his role in D.P., shared his experiences about the show.

Shin Dong Yup, who had watched and enjoyed D.P., pointed out to Jung as to how serious the show was. Jung agreed, "Yes. Actually, not only the scenario, but the concept itself is heavy, and I had to go bald again."

D.P. is a military webtoon, meaning Deserter Pursuit. The show follows the Military Police unit, which is responsible for capturing soldiers who have deserted their bases.

The drama went on to become a highly-rated show worldwide because of its cast and the milieu of the military.

In the show, Jung plays Private An Jun Ho, who is directed to chase after these soldiers in extremely desolate conditions. When explaining why it had affected him so, Jung said, "I was constantly losing my cool, and I kept having nightmares of being enrolled in the armed forces again. I had to muster enough courage to be a part of palying in the drama."

On a lighter note, Shin, who also had watched the series, asked Jung, "How much do they pay you for a gig like that?". Jung had laughed but remained serious about how deeply the role affected him.

Although local and international reviewers received the show well, Jung's portrayal highlighted the challenges faced by young South Korean men.

On the flip side, however, the experience is a reminder of the toll such roles take on actors. It is impressive that Jung is still able to perform, and I, the Executioner, is the latest film to star him.
