Actor Lee Dong Gun explained the reasons for his five public relationships during an appearance on the SBS entertainment show 'My Little Old Boy.'
In the November 17 episode, Lee's mother asked him to take a quiz with her, and they talked about his dating history.
In fact, on the program, fellow guest Heo Kyung-hwan asked how many relationships Lee has had at the same time as another guest, which led his father to answer five while his mother initially said three. With the audience giggling, Heo jested about Lee's 'open' dating life.
Lee's dad stated that his son has a penchant for taking his relationships public, even when he may not be advised to do so.
'You're a celebrity, so why are you going public? You should keep it a secret," he said. According to Lee, being open is partly a personal choice out of respect for his partners.
Lee's other former lovers, including names like Kim Min-jung, Han Ji-Hye, Cha Ye-Ryun, T-ara Jiyeon, and Jo Yoon-hee, were also mentioned.
Interestingly, Lee started dating Jo Yoon-hee only 26 days after splitting with Jiyeon.
They later confirmed that they were married two months later and had a baby on the way, but they divorced in 2020 after three years of marriage.
So when Lee was asked about his nickname, "King of Chairs," he actually didn't understand what the nickname was all about, suggesting it stemmed from misunderstandings about his dating life.
