Emma Watson and Will Adamowicz have broken up amidst drug-related rumors. The actress, who is most known for her roles in Harry Potter and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, as well as her flawless sense of style, is now single once again.
A representative for Watson told The Mirror that "Emma and Will separated last summer and are no longer in touch." So far, both parties have kept mum about the split. The couple, who met while studying at Oxford University in 2011, has not made any official statement about the reason for the breakup either.
Rumors are pointing to drug use as the possible cause. Adamowicz was painted in an unflattering light at the start of the year when a photo of him with white packets that looked like drugs popped up on Facebook. The Mirror reported that the 23-year-old was shown folding something while sitting at a table with a $100 bill, a bottle, a glass of wine, and several pieces of suspicious-looking white things on top of it. The photo was posted by his friend, Antoine Salagnon, with the caption, "HNY [Happy New Year] - with Will Adamowicz."
Watson's now former beau denied the allegations, saying that the white things in the picture were not of illegal substances. He said, "The picture is not compromising. It is not what you think. They are not packages. They are not drugs. They are just bits of scrap paper. I don't take any drugs."
No statement can be expected from Watson however. The actress and style icon has been known to be protective of her personal life. Back in 2012, she famously told Glamour magazine about an incident involving the paparazzi at Coachella and how being in the spotlight makes dating difficult. She said, "My friend got me tickets [to Coachella] for my birthday, and what am I going to say? 'No, I'm not going to go because I don't want to be photographed?' But it was a huge crowd, and I thought there was no way anyone could get pictures of me, but somehow they found me," she said. "It's difficult on my dating life, because anyone I get photographed with is automatically my boyfriend. So it just makes it look as if I've had, like, 6,000 boyfriends!"
