Evan Peters has been confirmed as "Quicksilver" in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" for a while now and now we have our first look of the Evan Peters as "Quicksilver" in a new still.

Joss Whedon, the director of "Avengers: Age of Ultron", announced that the superheroes "Quicksilver" played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and "Scarlet Witch" played by Elisabeth Olsen would be joining "The Avengers" sequel and just a few days later director Bryan Singer announced that Evan Peters would be playing the same character in his film "X-Men: Days of Future Past".

Last April, Joss Whedon said, "these two characters, two of my favorite characters from the comic book, are a brother-sister act. They're in the movie." Marvel president, Kevin Feige, went on to say that it could be difficult to use the characters, as they're actually mutants that were fathered by "Magneto" from "X-Men". Of course, "X-Men" character rights are owned by Fox, but "Quicksilver" apparently fell into a grey area as they are members of "The Avengers" in the comics and are, coincidentally, "mutants".

This loophole allowed both Bryan Singer and Joss Whedon to use the character in their respective films. Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be playing "Quicksilver" in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron", and Joss Whedon has let it be known that he will play a much larger role in his film.

It'll be interesting to compare the two characters once both films hit theaters." The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will hit theaters in 2015, while "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will be in theaters May 23, 2014.

Bryan Singer recently stated that while there is a "great deal of humor, the overall tone is a bit darker than previous films, particularly because of the stakes."

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" is set for release on May 23, 2014. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender. Also rejoining the X-Men franchise are Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, James Marsden, Ellen Page, and Hugh Jackman. "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage will be playing a major villain.
