If you like chick flicks or are just in need of a pre-Valentine's Day romantic pick-up, "I Need Romance 3" may be just the thing.

The drama that started this week stars Kim So Yeon, who was seen as a prosecutor in both "Two Weeks" and "Prosecutor Princess" and as a North Korean agent in "Iris."

She plays Shin Joo Yeon, a 33-year-old home shopping network prosecutor, who has seen so many romantic relationships fail that she takes break-ups in stride.

When the comedy starts, she is reunited with Joo Wan, who her mother used to babysit when she was little. She has always been a noona to him, both chiding him for being unattractive and showing him how to play the piano.

But she has not seen him for 17 years and he is no longer the little boy she described as looking like an ugly sweet potato.

He has transformed into musician celebrity Allen Joo and he's a hot commodity, back from years of living in the U.S.

And, in true k-drama fashion, he has never forgotten her.

Sung Joon, who appeared in "Gu Family Book" and "Shut Up Flower Boy Band," plays the romantic idealist Joo Won.

The drama is not only fun and lighthearted but it's pretty to look at, starting out with vivid scenes reminiscent of French romantic films. Shin Joo Yeon has two close friends, played by Park Hyo Joo and Yoon Seung Ah. The trio give off a "Sex and the City" sophisticated vibe. They are women with business world savvy and a somewhat jaded view of love.

The comedy has a brisk pace in keeping with the busy high stakes lives of the heroine, her friends and co-workers.

Although Shin Joo Yeon says that she no longer believes in love, viewers know that the right man has not yet come along. In flashbacks to her previous break-ups, it's easy to see what dolts her previous boyfriends were. One breaks up with her after buying another girl a necklace. Another gulps down a big meal after leaving her in tears.

What she needs is a true romantic who really loves her.

Sung Joon's character would be that man and he will do all he can to convince her of it.

While there is little new about the plot of this noona romance that has not already been covered in "The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry," "I Do I Do" or "Personal Taste," it's charming and unpretentious.

Anyone who enjoys romance might enjoy tuning in to this whipped cream treat of a drama.
