January 26 is the Grammy Awards and it looks like its going to be all about the Beatles this year. Well, maybe not all, but certainly a whole lot.
According to the Recording Academy, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney are expected to perform at the LosAngeles extravaganza event, the hottest night for music.

Many artists like the Eurythmics among other are also planning to play some of the greatest hits from Beatles, reports say. The day before the Grammys, the Academy's Special Merits Awards will be presented to the once-most-popular singers of all time.

McCartney has been nominated for best music film and best rock song.

This year the Grammys will be telecast live on CBS from the Staples Center.

Grammy performers will also include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Taylor Swift, Robin Thicke, Kendrick Lamar and Katy Perry. Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers, Daft Punk and Pharrell are scheduled to come on stage together, while Sara Bareilles and Carole King are slated for a duet.
If Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr regroup on stage in LA, it could be their first in five years. At this point, they are confirmed for a separate performance, but the Mirror said that a combined performance is likely.

The much anticipated Beatles reunion of what's left of the band would be in unison with their Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award. Their last performance was in 2009, when they played in a concert for David Lynch, the film director.

Seven years before that, Ringo and Paul shared the stage at London's Royal Albert Hall in the Concert for George, honoring their colleague George Harrison a year after his death.

Macca has been nominated for the Best Rock Song award for "Cut Me Some Slack", which he collaborated with existing members of Nirvana.
