"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 is the show's last season and it seems that some fans are not happy with it. Not because "How I Met Your Mother" is ending but to them the quality of the episodes are dropping.
Recently "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 episode 14: "Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment in Slapmara" was under fire from the Asian community for having racist portrayals of Asians. The show's creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas apologized on twitter for the episode.
Aside from that snafu, fans are not happy with how things are going with "How I Met Your Mother" season 9.
Dan Hajducky of Den of Geek! Made an article about this and asked "How I Met Your Mother is one of the best sitcoms of this generation. So why is the ending of the love story so disappointing?"
He said that "How I met your mother" season 9 has been "downright unenjoyable" noting that every episode so far has been "forced".
He then goes on ask that "Is it the fact that the mystery of the mother being resolved has taken away the intrigue of the show? Or is it the fact that the writers of the show seem to be stretching out the story arc with plotlines that are missing entirely?"
He points out that the "How I met your mother" season 9 midseason break episode had the lowest amount of viewers for a midseason break with 7.7 million viewers compared to last season's 8.7 million viewers.
Kelsea Stahler of Bustle.com pointed out that the "How I met your mother" season 9 storylines are making Robin "the worst person ever" noting that Robin has done some awful and very selfish things this season like taking Barney's recently divorced brother, James' wedding ring in poker game just to prove a point.
Users of Metacritic have been vocal about season 9 as well. One user noted that "half way through the season and more, (the show has become) drag, boring, uninspired and shallow."
One user even said "This series which we used to enjoy watching in the first 4 seasons or so has declined in every aspect writing, acting, direction...... it is one of the worst tv shows on air."
User "Perdiga" had this to say as well "I love the series, until the finale of season 8. Season 9 is getting worse each episode. I couldn't finish watching episode 11. The jokes are not as funny as they used to be."
